Goodwill Industries of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, Inc. is a private, nonprofit corporation that provides vocational and educational opportunities for people with barriers to employment to improve their work skills and enhance their economic independence. Goodwill's services are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Goodwill is funded primarily through the collection and resale of donated goods at retail stores located throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Goodwill believes in the inherent value of work and the concept that people deserve the opportunity to reach their maximum potential and the highest level of self-sufficiency.
Goodwill's Workforce Services and community programs are funded by material and financial donations.
Material donations from community members and businesses support Goodwill's community services. These donations of gently used goods are sold in retail stores, which provide both job training sites for participants as well as revenue to support workforce development programs. Attended Donation Centers are located throughout the Ventura and Santa Barbara County area and are open seven days a week. At these sites, Goodwill staff can provide assistance with unloading donations and provide a tax receipt. Click here for a location near you.
